On the third leg of our Jurassic Coast journey we get soaked in a sudden thunderstorm, we tour the local pubs of Abbotsbury with the town drunk in search of cash, and we watch a lightbulb explode violently in a haunted pub.
In the second part of our Jurassic Coast hike, we walk through a lush jungle, explore paleontology in Lyme Regis, and we get lost in the fog and end up at a tea room near West Bay.
In part 1 of our Jurassic Coast hike, we walk along cliffs of bright red Triassic sandstone. We stay at a posh Christian retreat, where we secretly pour ourselves a gin-and-tonic for happy hour.

In part 5 of our visit to Cornwall we cycle inland from Padstow, and we dayhike at Port Isaac, Tintagel, Crackington Haven, and Bude. In Bude I try to surf and we gorge on gargantuan scones.
On the island of Tenerife we hike along a ramshackle dirt road along the coastline, and we hike into the Teno Mountains.
Tenerife is a volcanic island off of the coast of Africa. In part one of our hikes on Tenerife, we explore the volcanic highlands of Teide.
In our quick visit to Chicago we attend the Thanksgiving Day parade, we do an architectural walk, we drink gluhwein at the Christmas market, we visit the Art Institute of Chicago, and we listen to some Chicago blues at a blues club.
São Miguel in the Azores is a lush, green mist-shrouded island. We hike around the Furnas caldera and we visit Parque Terra Nostra to soak in the hot springs. We stay at Quinta das Amoreiras, a 250-year old manor house, and we walk down to the seashore where we swim in a tidal pool.
Jordan is an amazing country to visit. It is full-on Middle East. It has amazing sights, superb food, and very friendly people. In April of 2014 we spent a week touring around by car. We visited Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and a number of other sights.
