Hi there.

I’m a traveler, hiker, canoeist and backcountry skier.  Home is Calgary, near the Canadian Rockies and the Alberta prairies.  I’m lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

I’m the author of Prairie Paddling – Exploring Alberta’s Badlands by Canoe.  Get your copy at MEC or other fine outdoor equipment retailers.

I’m a keen traveler: 54 countries so far.  I prefer slow travel and off-season travel.  Often the best way to see and experience a foreign country is on foot.  The world is a wonderful and diverse place, and we have only one lifetime to see it.  I have a lot of travel stories, and even more photos.  I’m slowly trying to get more posts up on this site.

I’m a geoscientist by trade.

I’m married to Diana.  I’m a lucky guy.
