Diana and I lived in the Netherlands from 2012 to 2016.  Near the place where we lived was a small regional airport.  From this airport, Ryanair flew to two southern destinations: Girona, Spain; and Bergamo, Italy.  It didn’t take long for Diana to find us some tickets.  In November, less than two months after our big move across the Atlantic, we spent a wonderful long weekend in the city of Bergamo.

While in Bergamo, I looked longingly to the Alps just to the north.  Bergamo is in the foothills of the Alps, and a wall of tall mountains rises up just beyond the city limits.  Surely there must be some nice hiking there and nice places to stay?  The next spring, Diana found us some more tickets to Bergamo and booked us in at B&B Adelche, a bead-and-breakfast in a small hamlet called Costa San Gallo.

Diana and I both had a good feeling about this place, and our intuition turned out to be right.
