3893Poppit.jpg - We had planned to hike to Newport around Cemaes Head, a promontory that sticks far out into the Irish Sea. However the winds were so strong that day that we could not stay upright on our feet when approaching the cliffs at the tip of the peninsula. We turned back and hiked instead to Cardigan, inland, where it was more protected. Later in the week we heard that there had been trees down, powerlines down, and ferry cancellations due to the gale-force winds. This is a view across Cardigan Bay and Poppit Sands.
